China Glaze Haul

Check out my new Facebook page!

FINALLY my package arrived! I’ve had to wait for it a lot longer than expected, but it was definitely worth it because it was filled with 7 new China Glaze polishes! Actually, these are my first China Glaze polishes ever, so I was very excited to try them out. I’d actually purchased 8, but one of them was out of stock, so I’ll have to wait a little while longer for that.

4 of the polishes are from their neon summer collection Electric Nights. I considered getting all, but sanity kicked in and I just went with my 5 favorite ones (one is the one out of stock) and then I got 3 others who were on sale.

These are the ones I got (picture-heavy post ahead):

Treblemaker

Treblemaker 1

This is from the Electric Nights collection. It is the brightest green I have ever seen and I don’t have any similar polishes in my collection. I am so sad that my pictures make it look like a dull, pastel-ish green, because it is so vibrant in real life! It is a little thin in formula, so less on the brush is better so the layers aren’t too thick. Shown here is 2 coats.treblemaker 2

Skyscraper

skyscraper 1

This polish is from the fall 2011 collection, which is probably why it was so cheap because it was on clearance. It is a navy blue base with silver and blue glitter. It is kind of similar to OPI’s Get your number, but darker and without the holographic glitter. It also leans a little purple and I’m having a hard time deciding if I should call it a blue or a purple polish. The massive plus to this one is that it is not at all hard to get off since the glitters are so small. Shown here is 3 coats.skyscraper 2

Red-y to Rave

This is also from the Electric Nights collection. My pictures make it look slightly orange, but it is the brightest red! It leans a little towards coral which is also why it shows up orange, I guess. This is definitely a neon red! You should definitely check out other swatches or in real life! Shown here is 3 coats.

Plur-ple

Plur-ple

There were two purples in the Electric Nights collection and this is the more cool-toned of the two. This has blue undertones but is still very much purple and bright! The formula on this one is tricky.. Some people could get away with 2, some people with 3, but I actually used 4 coats for these pictures before I was able to completely even out the color. I did use thin coats because the polish was a little running, maybe I should have used thicker coats.

Mind the gap

Mind the gap is from the fall 2014 collection. This is either going to be one I hate or one I love – I haven’t quite decided yet.. Shown here is 3 coats.

DJ Blue my mind

DJ blue my mind 1

This is the darker of the two blues in the Electric Nights collection. The other one was a lot more baby blue while this was darker and more of a neon color, so I bought this one although I’d heard it stains your nails and skin. And it definitely does! I actually doubled the base coat, but it still left my nails and skin a little tinted, which is a shame, because it is super pretty! This has the possibility of being a one coater if you’re careful, but I used 2 coats for these pictures.DJ blue my mind 2

Feeling Twinkly

Shown here is one coat over DJ Blue my mind. This is from the holiday 2014 collection. To be honest, I probably didn’t need this one. I thought this was gonna have a colored base, but is was just blue glitter in a clear base. It is exactly the same as w7’s Blue Dazzle, except the China Glaze has a slightly better formula and more glitter density.

Overall

My favorites in the bunch are DJ blue my mind, if only it didn’t stain, and Plur-ple, but overall I’m happy about all of them. I will have a hard time convincing myself NOT to buy the remaining polishes from the Electric Nights collection, because they are all very, very pretty and the four I have here, are the ones I like the best of the ones I got. All of the polishes, especially the Electric Nights ones has a thin formula and is a little running if you’re not careful and get too much on the brush.
