I remember the first time I had to do a gradient, and I thought it was REVOLUTIONARY that you could do something like that! This was in 2014, and since then, gradients have become a household thing for me. Of course, the “invention” of liquid latex barriers helped grow my love for gradients, because I always refrained from doing them because of the mess. But now, I often do gradients, so that seemed to simple to do for this prompt. Last year, I attempted (and succeeded at) a reciprocal gradient, and this year, I was inspired by this pin to try a tape gradient.
I used light colors, which I think compliment each other super well, but the downside to that is that it needed a couple of coats to get opaque. That means that the bottom layers started to dry, and when I peeled off the striping tape, the lines were more visible than I would have wanted. Still, I think the effect is super cool.
Polishes used:
- Wet n Wild – Peri-Wink-Le
- Color Club – Le Petite Mint-sieur

Very cool. I actually like the depth of the stripes.
