Recreation: December 2015

Happy 1st December everyone!

Here, I am finishing the final project of this semester – after tomorrow I can look forward to a nice, long holiday break – the first real one since I started university 3½ years ago. I am so excited to have a nice, cozy December this year with plenty of time to watch movies, buy presents, apply nail polish and see my friends and family. We’re working as productively as we can today so we can have the night off to celebrate our 3 year anniversary.

Since the first day of December falls on a Thursday, I am kicking this month in with a recreation manicure.

My nails are quite a lot longer this year, which gave me more space for the ornaments. They are definitely more uniform this time around. I also allied myself with a thinner striping brush for the bows which helps it look much better.

Polishes used:

  • OPI – Alpine Snow (white)
  • Maybelline – Light Up (silver)
  • China Glaze – Skyscraper (purple)
  • OPI – Get Your Number (blue)
  • China Glaze – Material Girl (pink)
  • L’Oréal – 843 (gold)

Recreation: November 2015

I slept horribly last night! Went to bed at around 11 pm, couldn’t sleep until about 1.30 am, woke up at 4 am and lay awake until after 6 am and ultimately got up at 9 am. Ugh!

Anyway, my sleep is not what I was going to talk about today, but rather my recreation mani of November.

The manicure I am recreating was a part of my Surprise Saturday challenges, where Jonas gave me three random polishes to work with. Now, unlike some other Saturdays, these polishes were are pretty nice combo, but I had VERY shaky hands that day. What do you do when you have shaky hands? Attempt to make straight, free handed lines, apparantly…

Clearly I wasn’t so succesful with the straight lines…

  • Sally Hansen – Himalaya
  • China Glaze – Stop That Train!
  • Essie – The Perfect Cover Up

Recreation: October 2015

I didn’t do a recreation post for the month of September – it didn’t really make sense since last September (and most of this September) was dedicated to the 31 day nail polish challenge. BUT, I am back at it again this month. Continue reading

Recreation: August 2015

Oh, I remember this manicure. I originated from a pin, but I had several things working against me. First of all, I was working with a top coat that was nearing the bottom and had become thick and gloopy and stringy. Second, I had nowhere near enough patience for a manicure that requires three rounds of drying time. Continue reading

Recreation: July 2015

July 2015 was a month without much nail art. I was working at LEGOLAND where my nail polish wasn’t allowed to be too noticeable, and even if I wore discreet polish, it would chip off within the first hour of work, so I quickly dropped that idea and let my nails be naked. Continue reading

Recreation: May 2015

When I was going through my camera roll the other day, I realized I completely forgot to post my recreation post for this month even though I had it ready. This was done before I cut my nails short again, so that is why my nails are so long here. Continue reading

Recreation: April 2015

Alright, laces 2.0. To me, this is one of the hardest tasks in nail art because it’s all tiny lines and dots, and though I’ve tried many times, I’ve still not quite mastered it yet.. This attempt is a lot better than the first one from last year, though. Continue reading
