2014 in review

2014 is coming to an end. This is my first year as a blogger, and I just want to thank all of you so much for reading my things! It means so much to me! In the course of just a few months I’ve gotten almost 1000 views, almost 600 visitors and 70 followers!

I wanted to share a list of my top posts:

  1. 20 Random questions – tag  –  I’m surprised so many of you want to read random stuff about me lol
  2. No. 2: And Your Bird Can Sing (Anthology version) – The Beatles – YAY, other Beatles fans out there!
  3. Sally Hansen – Rule of Plum swatch – I understand, it is SOOO pretty
  4. 31 Day Nail Polish Challenge: Day 6: Violet Nails – For some reason this was incredibly popular considering it is one of the simpler challenge days
  5. 31 day nail polish challenge: Day 14: Flowers – Thank you, Robin Moses for inspiring my manicure 😉

Here are some of the countries where I have the most readers:

  1. United States – No wonder I always wake up to a lot of views (because of the time difference)
  2. Denmark – Not so weird, maybe some of my real-life friends contributed?
  3. United Kingdom

Countries I didn’t expect to get views from:

  1. Pakistan
  2. Lithuania
  3. Saudi Arabia

Thank you all so much for visiting my blog in 2014! I hope to see and hear from you again in 2015!

Happy New Year!

Would you rather – tag

Would you rather walk around all day with you skirt tucked in your underwear or be seen wearing a really see through dress?
Shirt tucked in. Ugh, the thought of people seeing my underwear unintentionally.

Would you rather go to a party and not realize until the end of the night that you have lipstick on your teeth or that your fake lashes are coming unglued?

Hm. Fake eyelashes unglued. It’s something you see quite often at the end of the night, and I smile a lot at parties, so it would be too noticeable.

Would you rather forget to put mascara on one eye or forget blush on one side of your face?

Forget blush. Hot weather, cold weather, embarrassing moments, alcohol, whatever, and my cheeks are burning red.

Would you rather wear lipstick/lipliner combo or frosty blue eyeshadow?

The lips. I’m not too much into eyeshadow anymore actually..

Would you rather wear foundation that is two shades too light or go way overboard on bronzer?

Too light. If that’s even possible to buy 😀 My skin is quite fair already.

Would you rather drink an entire bottle of ketchup or run into the guy who broke your heart on a bad hair day when your skin is freaking out?

Uuuuh, tough one. Run in to the guy who broke my heart. He dumped when I looked my best, so I can’t really please him anyway, right?

Would you rather be able to date any celeb you wanted or wake up with perfect red carpet-worthy hair?

Had I been single I would have gone with the celeb, but I’m not, so I’ll have to choose the hair.

Would you rather your armpits smell musky or like delicious lasagna?

Lasagna. It would be weird, but delicious 😀

Would you rather give up your makeup or cell phone for one year?

My make-up. I’m not really a phone addict, but it’s nice to have. And you would just get used to the no-makeup-look.

Would you rather run into a cute guy you like with food all in your grill or no makeup at all?

No make-up. At least that shows intentionality.

20 random questions – tag

1.Thing you cannot leave the house without?

My iPod! How else would I entertain myself on the go?

2.Favorite brand of makeup?

Hm. I don’t really have an all-time favorite, but I really like L’Oréal’s mascaras and Body Shop’s eyeliner.

3.Favorite Flowers?

Which ever I’m lucky enough to get 😀

4.Favorite clothing stores?

H&M. Cheap, but pretty. And they have a big selection and something for every taste.

5.Favorite perfume?

Right now it’s Christina Aguilera – Red Sin.

6.Heels or flats?

I have an obsession with very high heels and I own too many pairs! But since my ex-boyfriend was only a couple of centimeters taller than me, he didn’t like it when I wore 10 cm heels, so I stopped. My boyfriend is 2.04 m, so I’ve been wanting to get into it again, but it has just been too long. My feet hurt after 10 seconds and I just end up in flats 😦

7.Do you make good grades?

Decent. I’m sort of an average-person (maybe a little above). I do pretty well overall, but I don’t have a subject where I excel.

8.Favorite colors?

Bordeaux. And Teal. It changes often, sometimes even day-to-day. But these two are always pretty!

9.Do you drink energy drinks?

No. They do anything for me, and frankly they just taste like nothing but sugar.
10.Do you drink juice?

Sometimes apple juice. Pineapple juice when on holiday because I have yet to find a good pineapple juice in Denmark. I only drink orange juice without pulp. And only if nothing else is available.

11.Do you like swimming?

I used to. When I was younger my parents couldn’t get me out of the water when on holiday. Now I’ve gotten afraid of sea weed, so only in the pool and only to cool off from the sun.

12.Do you eat fries with a fork?

No. Too hard.

13.Whats your favorite moisturizer?

The one I have in my cupboard. Which is probably the cheapest.

14.Do you want to get married later on in life?

YES! Maybe I’m old-fashioned, but marriage before kids (unless they are accidental).

15.Do you get mad easily?

hm.. no?.. not at al….. Okay, yes. My boyfriend takes all the hits. But often it quickly surpasses and I’m pretty good at apologizing later if the anger wasn’t justified.

16.Are you into ghost hunting?

I’m too scared. Yes, I watched all five seasons of Ghost Whisperer, and I’m still afraid of passing mirrors at night…

17.Any phobias?

Drowning. I haven’t watched Titanic and probably never will. Why I thought I could would ‘Life of Pi’ I’ll never know. “What, a movie about a boy stranded on a boat, how could that possibly be about water?”. I always look away when there’s something with people almost-drowning on TV. Once I was playing a game on PS3 and my boyfriend had to take over in a part about escaping water while I sat in the next room.

18.Do you bite your nails?

Nope.

19.Have you ever had a near death experience?

Some that have felt like it, but looking back I was never even close. Drama queen, much?

20.Do you drink coffee?

If I have to. But it don’t clap my hands in joy when someone asks if I want some coffee.

Oh, the joys of exams!

If you want to know why my blog might be a little quiet for the next week, you can follow me on twitter to hear my latest complaints about writing exams. Or maybe the blog will be the opposite of quiet – procrastination for the win!

Also, tips on keeping your head straight and/or not wearing your concentration out too quickly will be greatly appreciated!

Enjoy your december if you have the time – I will be looking forward to actually celebrating christmas again a few years from now.

November Favorites

November has come to a close and december is about to begin. Both a time of joy but also a time of stress for the students such as myself. I wanted to create a post about some of the things that I have really been loving in the month of November – this is a beauty edition.

1. I recently re-discovered two of my Essie nail polishes – ‘Leading Lady’ and ‘Muchi, Muchi’. Leading Lady is very fitting for the winter/christmas months and Muchi, Muchi is just a classic. Although very new, I also love Sally Hansen’s ‘Rule of Plum

‘. favorites

2. All things Sally Hansen. Oh. My. God. It’s a good brand! Their nail polishes are so beautiful and I got a chance to try their top and base coat and I am in love. Especially the top coat blew my mind away. When they call it ‘fast-dry’ they really mean it! It’s basically the only brand I buy at the moment.

3. Gosh Liquid Eyeliner. After my holiday I stopped using eyeliner for a while because I had a tan, but I just started using this again.

4. TIGI Bed Head Manipulator. I got this when I got permanent curls and now it’s almost empty. It’s a great hair wax for longer hair because it is more liquid-y and easier to apply all over long hair.

5. TIGI Catwalk Bodifying Spray. This is a really good hair spray and for once it actually smells well too instead of choking you 🙂

6. I still love the Nivea In-shower Body Lotion. You can read my opinions about it here.

7. My new O.P.I Matte Top coat that I got yesterday – yes, yesterday was still november 😉 I got it as a gift and I went home and tried it out immediately and I love the look it gives.

No. 2: And Your Bird Can Sing (Anthology verison) – The Beatles

This song cracks me up! I first saw the Anthology series about 4 years ago and this song still makes me smile whenever it comes on.

As the people who know me know, I am a HUGE Beatles fan! So you’ll probably see a lot of Beatles songs on here :p

At first I didn’t think too much of the anthology songs – I like the originals more. Looking back I see what a big mistake it was to skip the anthology tracks! They reveal so much vulnerability and sincerity and it makes you feel like you’re closer to the guys.

Even if you don’t like the Beatles you should give this track a listen – I’m almost positively sure that it will at least bring a smile to you face.

Song of that day series

Hello!

Music plays a big role in my life – I’ve sung in choir for 12 years, played the piano for 10 years , the marimba for 2 years and I studied music in gymnasium. In addition to that I rarely leave the house without my iPod and when I need to really relax I just lay on my bed and listen to music. I like to lose myself in the music, the lyrics, the story.

In addition to my nail polish challenge, which is bound to end at some point, I am considering creating a new series of blog posts. Regularly I would create a blog post telling you about the song of that day  – a song I have gotten in to lately or have rediscovered or a song I find fascinating for some reason. It is not going to be EVERY day, but the song of THAT day – the day when I feel like sharing a song with you.

What do you think about that idea?
